The bloody big robots that got me were the ones that strode down the broad avenues in “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow”. I watched that scene with my mouth hanging open. Those are my type of robots.
Lumbering monstrosities as imagined in the 1930’s and 40’s. Grasping appendages and lasers for eyes…
The story was strong on atmosphere. I liked it; days later I still remember it in detail — always a good sign.

Damn. I think I flogged my copy of /Sky Captain/, and now I want to see the giant robots again – I’d quite forgotten about those…
Nice story in this issue. Not so sure about the title, can’t quite divine its full relation to the tale, but a nice twist and the story has atmosphere once it gets going.
